MEET DONNA

December of 2016 marked the start of Donna's long sought after move from Canada to Sweden. Having lived in Linköping during her first two years overseas, she worked for Scandinavia's renowned White Arkitekter where she honed her skills as architect and interior designer. Founded in Gothenburg during the 1950s, White is a leader in its field, with several offices located throughout Sweden, Norway, Denmark and the UK. Donna now resides in Sweden’s capital, Stockholm, where she works for award winning architect firm, Studio Stockholm.

While residing in Calgary, AB Canada between 2013 and 2016, Donna was uniquely connected to the interior design community through several different avenues.  In addition to her own independent practice, she worked as a senior account executive and lighting specialist for Lightform Canada. Doing so gave her the opportunity to inject her individual design style into several local projects by working closely along side Calgary's most influential architect and interior design firms.

Before returning to her home province in 2013, Donna spent five years in Toronto, where she worked for one of Canada's most well known interior design firms, Cecconi Simone. Collaborating with top tier architects,  Donna has been responsible for spearheading several multi-residential condo projects locally and throughout the US.  Prior to her time in Toronto, Donna made Montreal her home. There, she worked for Lessard Design + Karl Fischer Architecture, completing numerous projects in NYC, Brooklyn, Toronto and Calgary.

Donna obtained her Bachelor of Applied Interior Design from Mount Royal University in Calgary, AB after completing her studies at Alberta University of the Arts. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in painting; her studies also including print making, drawing and textiles.

Today, Donna is a prolific print-maker and artist. Furthermore, she is commissioned on a regular basis to create portraits for one of Sweden's largest men's online retailer, Care of Carl.

Upon graduating interior design school, Donna worked for world renowned Kasian Architecture, Interior Design + Planning. With offices in major cities across Canada and into Dubai, and Shanghai, Donna gained invaluable experience as a junior designer during her time with Kasian.

Donna is an active participant within the yoga community wherever she calls home. Her health and well-being are at the top of her priorities, and her vegan lifestyle is a testament to this. She is an avid runner, spending much of her spare time training for upcoming races as well as coaching for The Running Room; helping others achieve their own personal running goals.

Donna's approach to art + design stems from her passion for minimalist living. With roots deeply grounded in yoga philosophy, she injects a sense of calm, balance, simplicity + warmth into each and every space she creates. Displaying a genuine love and respect for nature, Donna actively utilises materials and finishes which are gentler on the environment, and is keen on using non-toxic, natural products whenever possible.
